Dante Osorio Tiñga (born May 11, 1939) is a Filipino politician and jurist who has held several important roles in government and law. He served as acting chairman of the Development Bank of the Philippines from December 2022 to March 2024.

Tiñga was an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines from 2003 to 2009. Earlier, he represented Taguig–Pateros in the House of Representatives for three terms, from 1987 to 1998.

He has also held academic leadership roles, serving as the dean of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Law from 2001 to 2003, and as the interim dean of the University of the East College of Law from 2017 to 2018 (and previously from 1989 to 1993).

Education and family: Tiñga earned his law degree (LLB) from the University of the East in 1960 and an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1970. He was married to Ma. Asuncion Rodriguez, who died in 1996. He is the father of Sigfrido Tiñga, a former Taguig mayor and representative, and Rica Tiñga, a former Taguig councilor and 2013 mayoral candidate.

Politics: Over the years, Tiñga has been part of several parties, including PDP–Laban (1987–2009), Liberal (2009–2021), Kilusang Diwa ng Taguig (2009–present), and Silbi (2021–present).

Elections: He ran for mayor of Taguig in 1998 and 2010 but did not win. He filed an electoral protest after the 2010 election, which was dismissed. He attempted a congressional comeback in 2022 as the first nominee of the Silbi Partylist, but the party did not win a seat.

Recent developments: On December 9, 2022, Tiñga was appointed acting chairman and board member of the Development Bank of the Philippines. In April 2024, the University of the East awarded him a Juris Doctor degree. On October 29, 2024, he filed petitions with the Supreme Court challenging Taguig’s ordinance adding four councilors per district and certain election resolutions regarding Embo barangays.
