DYDC
DYDC 104.7 FM is a small, campus and community radio station owned by Visayas State University in Baybay. The studios are on the 2nd floor of the ADE Building at VSU, Pangasugan. The station broadcasts on 104.7 MHz as “DYDC 104.7” and operates on weekdays from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm on the air, with a 24/7 online stream via Zeno Radio. It serves as a training ground for VSU students studying development communication and community broadcasting.
History:
- The station began in 1982 on AM at 1449 kHz with the call sign DYAC, delivering development programs (especially in agriculture) and reaching Western Leyte and nearby areas.
- It stopped in 2013 after Typhoon Haiyan damaged the transmitter.
- The government funded repairs, and on June 9, 2014 the station relaunched on FM at 104.7 MHz as DYDC 104.7, following listener preference for FM.
