Crawford State Park is a Kansas state park in Crawford County, about 9 miles north of Girard. The 500-acre park sits on a 150-acre lake built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Within the park there are two archaeological sites, including remnants of a 19th-century U.S. military outpost. An interpretive trail connects the park to the Farlington Fish Hatchery, built shortly after the lake was completed. Crawford State Park is a popular fishing spot for channel catfish, crappie, and striped bass. Boating and scuba diving are also enjoyed here. Located on the edge of the Ozarks, the park features many redbud trees. In 2022, about 333,000 visitors came to Crawford State Park. The park is managed by the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism.
