Coral Gables Congregational Church
The Coral Gables Congregational Church is a historic Congregational church in Coral Gables, Florida. It was designed in 1923 by architect Richard Kiehnel of the firm Kiehnel and Elliott and is a fine example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture. The church is located at 3010 DeSoto Boulevard. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on October 10, 1978. The land was donated by George E. Merrick, the developer who planned and built Coral Gables, and he dedicated the church to his father, a Congregational minister. The church supports artistic and musical activities for young people, including the Coral Gables Congregational Church Composition Prize. In 2006 the prize was won by Australian composer Gordon Hamilton.
