Communist Party of Bharat (CPB) is a left-wing political party in India. It is a Naxalite splinter group of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) and follows Marxism-Leninism. The party operates mainly in West Bengal, with its headquarters in Kolkata. Its leadership includes General Secretary Ranjan Chakraborty and Barnali Mukherjee, who works with mass-front organizations. CPB was involved in the Singur and Nandigram agitations, but later distanced itself from that movement, saying it had become a business-lobby backed “false” movement rather than a genuine popular movement, even as other Left parties remained involved.
