Chopin Hill
Chopin Hill is a small, snow-covered hill in Antarctica. It is about 600 meters (2,000 feet) high and sits roughly 2 nautical miles (4 kilometers) southwest of Mount Schumann, at the base of Harris Peninsula on Alexander Island near Beethoven Peninsula. It was first mapped from air photos taken during the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition in 1947–48, and mapped in 1960 by D. Searle of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it after the Polish composer Frédéric Chopin. Its coordinates are 71°40′S, 73°49′W.
