China National Gold Group Corporation (CNGC), also called China Gold, is a centrally administered Chinese state-owned enterprise. Founded in 1979 and based in Beijing, it is overseen by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC). CNGC explores, mines, processes, and refines gold, copper, silver, and molybdenum. It has about 23,000 employees (2024) and is traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as 2099. In addition to mining, the company runs retail gold jewelry stores, refining services, and irradiation sterilization services for food, medical, and cosmetics industries. It also engages in geological exploration, engineering construction, and serves as the official media for the Shanghai Gold Exchange and Shanghai Diamond Exchange. The group actively pursues overseas resource acquisitions and joint ventures and operates domestic mining assets in China.
