Chin Dae-je (Korean: 진대제; born January 20, 1952) is a South Korean businessman and former politician. He was born in Uiryeong, South Gyeongsang Province. He studied electrical engineering at Seoul National University (B.S., M.S.), the University of Massachusetts Amherst (M.S.), and Stanford University (Ph.D).

Chin joined Samsung in 1985 and led Samsung’s Digital Media Business as president from 2000 to 2003. He served as Minister of Information and Communication from February 2003 until resigning in early 2006. He then ran for governor of Gyeonggi Province as a Uri Party candidate but lost to Kim Moon-soo of the Grand National Party, during a nationwide shift against the ruling party. He was the only Uri Party candidate to win more than 30% of the vote in all nationwide races, except for Kim Wan-ju in North Jeolla.

Chin gave a plenary talk at ISSCC in 2005. He received the NAEK Award from the National Academy of Engineering of Korea in 1997 and was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2020 for innovations and leadership in semiconductor technology. In 2020, he was also named a laureate of the Asian Scientist 100.
