Chascanopsetta
Chascanopsetta is a genus of flatfish in the lefteye flounder family (Bothidae). They live mainly in deeper waters of the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and one species, Chascanopsetta lugubris, is also found in the Atlantic Ocean. The genus has ten recognized species. These fish have an elongated body and a relatively large mouth, which gives rise to the common name pelican flounder, especially for C. lugubris. They lack spines on the snout, around the eyes, or on the jaws. The type species is Chascanopsetta lugubris.
