Central High School (Independence, Oregon)
Central High School is a public high school in Independence, Oregon. It opened in 1950 and is part of the Central School District. The principal is Rick Dormer. The school serves grades 9–12 and has 1,014 students (2023–2024). Colors are red, white, and black, and the mascot/team name is the Panthers. They compete in the OSAA 5A-3 Mid-Willamette Conference.

Notes on academics and activities:
- 2005–2006: rated "satisfactory" by the Oregon Department of Education.
- 2008: 73% of seniors graduated (135 of 185); 21 dropped out, 14 received a modified diploma, 15 were still in high school the next year.
- 2019–2020: 81% of students graduated on time; 90% within five years.
- Cheer program: 2019 national champions in the United Spirits Association for varsity show cheer novice non-tumbling; state champions in 2023; another state title in 2025.
- Arts: three choirs and three bands; a large theater program.
- Athletics: football, wrestling, girls’ basketball, boys’ basketball, cross country, cheerleading, boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer, volleyball, tennis, golf, baseball, softball, and track and field.
