Clarence Daniel "Cassy" Ryan (May 10, 1905 – January 6, 1981) was an American football player from Mannington, West Virginia. He played high school football in Mannington, then for the West Virginia Mountaineers from 1926 to 1928, and also spent three years as the Mountaineers’ second baseman on the college baseball team. In 1929, Ryan played in the NFL as a quarterback for the Buffalo Bisons, appearing in nine games (six as a starter). On November 24, 1929, he returned an 85-yard kickoff for a touchdown against the Chicago Bears. After his playing days, he spent about 40 years coaching in Farmington and Mannington in Marion County, West Virginia. He died in Fairmont, West Virginia, at age 75.
