Carnegie Library (Upland, California)
Carnegie Library, also known as the Upland Public Library, is a historic building in Upland, California. Located at 123 East D Street, it was built in 1913 as Upland’s first public building. Architect Homer W. Glidden designed it in the Classical Revival style, with a central entrance framed by columns, brick detailing, a stucco parapet, and a decorative cornice. It served as the Library until 1969, when a new library opened. Today the City of Upland owns the building and rents it for community events; it is also used by the Upland Public Library to run its Literacy Program. The library was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 10, 1990.
