Canton of Darney

The Canton of Darney is a rural area in eastern France, in the Vosges department of the Grand Est region. Its administrative center is the town of Darney. The canton includes 81 communes and covers 854.44 square kilometers (329.90 square miles). In 2023 the population was 17,093, giving a density of about 20 people per square kilometer (about 52 per square mile). The INSEE code is 88 04. In 2015, as part of a national reform, the canton grew from 21 to 82 communes, with two of them merging to form Tollaincourt, leaving 81 communes today.
