Bushehr Marine Rangers Battalion is an elite unit of Iran’s Navy. Active since the 1970s, it serves as naval infantry and special forces, conducting amphibious operations, direct actions, unconventional warfare, and reconnaissance.

The battalion rose to prominence in the Iran-Iraq War. It played a key role in the early fighting, the Second Battle of Khorramshahr, and in Operation Morvarid, helping seize and destroy two Iraqi docks, Al-Bakr and Al-Amiyah. It arrived in Khorramshahr on 22 September 1980 with about 700 personnel. After 34 days of resistance, Iraqi forces captured the city on 26 October 1980. The unit helped evacuate civilians and was the last to leave by boat. In that defense, about 300 were wounded and 76 were killed from the Bushehr Marine Rangers Battalion.

The battalion is part of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy. The current commander is Hooshang Samadi.
