Busan Japanese School
Busan Japanese School (釜山日本人学校; Korean: 부산일본인학교), formerly known in English as Pusan Japanese School (PJS), is a Japanese international school in Suyeong District, Busan, South Korea. It sits about 12 kilometres from central Busan and is near Gwangalli Beach. It is the closest Japanese overseas school to Japan. The school opened on October 1, 1975. In 2013 it had 13 teachers and 47 students (38 in elementary and 9 in junior high). By 2017, enrollment was dropping as fewer Japanese companies sent employees abroad and some moved to Seoul. The school song was written by Kiyoko Matsuo, with lyrics by Taku Izumi; Kohsuke Obane provided an English translation. Coordinates: 35°09′24″N 129°07′19″E.
