Brush Valley Township is a rural area in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. It was formed in 1835 from Wheatfield Township and named for the Brush Creek valley. The township covers 42.54 square miles in total, with 41.39 square miles of land and 1.16 square miles of water. The population was 1,695 at the 2020 census, with an estimated 1,686 in 2021, giving a density of about 43 people per square mile. The communities within the township are Brush Valley (formerly Mechanicsburg), Claghorn, Dias, Heshbon, Littletown, Rico, and Suncliff. Brush Valley Township lies in the Eastern Time Zone (EST in winter, EDT in summer).
