Botryococcene synthase is an enzyme with EC number 1.3.1.97. Its systematic name is C30 botryococcene:NADP+ oxidoreductase. It catalyzes an oxidation-reduction reaction between botryococcene (a C30 hydrocarbon) and NADP+, using NADP+ as the electron acceptor. The enzyme is isolated from the green alga Botryococcus braunii, BOT22, and is encoded by the SSL-3 gene.
