Bob Honeysett
Bob Honeysett (24 May 1934 – 5 December 2017) was an Australian professional rugby league player who played in the 1950s and 1960s. He was born in Condobolin, New South Wales, and died in Wyee, New South Wales.
Honeysett played for South Sydney and North Sydney in the NSWRL competition. He made his first‑grade debut in 1954, Round 7, against Parramatta at Cumberland Oval, scoring a try in an 18–11 victory. In 1955 he played most of the season but was left out of the grand final team after breaking his hand. He moved to North Sydney in 1958 and played two seasons with the club.
In 1960, he was captain-coach of the Young Cherrypickers. He represented New South Wales four times (1956–1962), and also played for NSW City (two appearances) and NSW Country (one appearance). In 1959, he was reported as the first Indigenous player to captain New South Wales. His last first‑grade selection came in 1962 while playing for the Wagga Magpies.
