Big Bang Mini is a Nintendo DS shoot-’em-up from Arkedo Studio, published by SouthPeak Games. It released in North America on January 21, 2009 and in Europe on March 6, 2009. The game uses the DS stylus to shoot fireworks from the bottom screen at enemies on the top screen, while hazards rain down that you must dodge. It features four game modes, multiplayer, and more than 100 levels. After finishing a level you design a Final Bouquet. The soundtrack is original. Levels take place in colorful settings like pyramids, trees, and cityscapes, with enemies such as superheroes, clowns, pixel birds, Chinese dragons, and laser-shooting sharks. Critics gave it generally favorable reviews, praising the addictive gameplay, innovative controls, bright visuals, and catchy music. Some noted that the later, more complex levels can make the controls feel imprecise, but the game remains fun.
