Bernard Gerard Wensley Atkinson (11 September 1900 – 4 September 1966) was an English first-class cricketer. A right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler, he was born in Puddington, Devon, and educated at St Paul’s School in London, where he led the batting averages in his last two years. He later attended the University of Cambridge but did not play first-class cricket for the university.

Atkinson made his first-class debut for Northamptonshire against Kent in the 1922 County Championship. That year he played 10 matches, scoring 257 runs at 17.13 with a high score of 91. He was also an all-rounder, taking 5 wickets at 31.80, with best figures of 2/13. He did not play first-class cricket for Northamptonshire in 1923 and 1924, likely due to his teaching career. In 1925 he played three more matches for Northamptonshire, scoring 29 runs at 5.80 and taking 2 wickets.

After a gap, he played for Middlesex in 1933 and 1934. In nine matches for Middlesex, he scored 286 runs at 14.30, with a high of 91, and took 18 wickets at 36.00, with best figures of 4/97. He left Middlesex at the end of 1934 to teach at the Edinburgh Academy, where he also played for Grange Cricket Club and appeared a few times for Scotland.

He died in Hampstead, London, in September 1966. His brother, Nigel Atkinson, also played first-class cricket.
