Ben Bailey is an American comedian and TV host, best known for hosting Cash Cab. He was born on October 30, 1970, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and grew up in Chatham Borough, New Jersey. As a kid he swam and dove in the local Fish & Game Club and often played the role of the family’s comic relief. He finished high school in 1988 and left Old Dominion University shortly before graduating to move to Los Angeles in 1993 to pursue comedy.

Bailey started performing stand-up after a break at The Comedy Store, where he worked as a bartender and bouncer. He built his career in New York City clubs and later appeared at major comedy festivals. He began headlining by 2019 and during the COVID lockdown he streamed a show called Work from Home on YouTube with his girlfriend acting as co-host.

His stand-up specials include Comedy Central Presents Ben Bailey (2006), Road Rage and Accidental Ornithology (2011), Ben Bailey Live & Uncensored (2016), and Please Tell Me What I Said (2024) on YouTube.

Bailey is the host and producer of Cash Cab, the American taxi game show. The show ran from 2005 to 2012 and returned from 2017 to 2020; there was also Cash Cab After Dark in 2007. He has appeared on many other TV programs, including Who’s Still Standing? (NBC, 2011–2012) and roles on The Knights of Prosperity, Hope & Faith, Law & Order SVU, Mad TV, Blue Bloods, 30 Rock, and One Life to Live. He narrated Smash Lab and has made film appearances, including Bad Parents.

He lives in Morristown, New Jersey. He was married to Laurence from 1997 to 2012, and they have two children. He is a licensed taxi driver in New York City. Bailey has earned several Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Game Show Host and won in 2010, 2011, and 2013, while Cash Cab won Emmys for Best Game Show and for Audience Participation in 2008–2010.
