Bechenheim is a small wine village in western Germany. It’s in Rhineland-Palatinate, in the Alzey-Worms district, and belongs to the collective municipality Alzey-Land (whose seat is in Alzey). Bechenheim lies in the Wonnegau winegrowing area of Rhenish Hesse and is the highest winegrowing municipality there.

The municipality covers about 2.55 square kilometers and sits around 224 meters above sea level. As of December 31, 2023, 413 people lived in Bechenheim.

Local government: the council has eight members and an honorary mayor, currently Ute Stein (2019–2024).

Bechenheim was first mentioned in 824 in a document from Fulda Abbey. The coat of arms shows a red shield with a silver bent arm holding a gold beaker.

Wine and economy: six winegrowing businesses cultivate about 33 hectares of vineyards. About 76% of the wine produced there is white (data from 2007). In 1979 there were 22 winegrowing businesses on 32 hectares. The postal code is 55234, the area code 06736, and cars from Bechenheim have the AZ license plate.
