Battle of Jastków

The Battle of Jastków took place from July 31 to August 3, 1915, near the village of Jastków in the Lublin region of Congress Poland (then part of the Russian Empire). It was a major clash between the Russian Army and the Austro-Hungarian Polish Legions, especially the 1st Brigade. Led by Józef Piłsudski and Bolesław Roja, the Polish Legions fought alongside Austro-Hungarian forces. It was one of the Legions’ largest and first major engagements. The battle ended with an Austro-Hungarian and Polish victory as the Russian forces retreated.
