Athens is a small village in Calhoun County, Michigan. It sits in southern Athens Township and is part of the Battle Creek metropolitan area. The village covers about 1 square mile of land, with a tiny amount of water, and the Nottawa Creek runs through it. Athens was settled in 1831.
