Asteria is an American pop/rock band from Crown Point, Indiana. They formed in 2003 at Crown Point High School and quickly built a regional following. The name, chosen by drummer Sam Henderson, comes from a gardening book and is a twist on the word wisteria.

Their first album, Broken-Hearted Lullabies And Hope-Filled Dreams, was released in 2004 and earned them several regional awards. The second album, A Lesson in Charades, followed in 2005 and led to a deal with Carbon Copy Media. They later released music on Broken English Records in 2007 after working with producer John Naclerio, and they toured nationally to support it.

In 2008 they left the label and continued touring, then spent years recording at home and released Momentum around 2010 with a refreshed sound. After promoting Momentum, Asteria went on hiatus as some members pursued other projects. They remained in touch and hinted at future shows, including a 2017 appearance in Tinley Park, Illinois, though it wasn’t clear if it signaled a full comeback or a one-off event.
