Anyway (Family album)
Anyway is the fourth album by the British rock band Family. It was released in November 1970. Side one features a live performance recorded on July 26, 1970 at Fairfield Halls in Croydon, while side two contains new studio recordings made at Olympic Sound Studios in London. The music blends progressive rock, hard rock, and psychedelic rock and runs 40 minutes and 18 seconds. It was produced by Family for Bradgate Bush Ltd, with manager Tony Gourvish credited as “Co-ordination.” Anyway followed the band’s Top 5 UK hit A Song for Me and reached No. 7 on the UK Albums Chart, staying on the chart for eight weeks. All tracks were written by John Whitney (Charlie Whitney) and Roger Chapman, unless noted otherwise. Notable songs include Lives And Ladies, which Radio One DJ John Peel described as a powerful anti-war track, and Normans, a playful reference to people considered idiotic.
