Andranik “Andy” Madadian is an Armenian-Iranian singer, songwriter and actor who sings in Persian, Armenian and English. He first rose to fame in the duo Andy & Kouros, releasing four albums from 1985 to 1991. They split in 1992, and Andy built a successful solo career, releasing 16 albums and scoring several hits. He has collaborated with many artists, including a 2009 recording of Stand by Me with Richie Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi as a message of solidarity with Iran. He has taken part in World Peace One and released the humanitarian single We Hear Your Voice in 2014. Other notable duets include Tehran with La Toya Jackson (2016) and Salama So Good with Khaled (2019). In his personal life, Andy married Shani Rigsbee in 2011; they have worked together on music and support cancer charities after Shani’s ovarian cancer in 1992, including performances for Relay for Life. In 2020, he received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in Los Angeles, becoming the first Iranian to be honored there.
