Al-Hassan ad-Dakhil (Arabic: الحسن الداخل), meaning "the one who entered," was the Imam of Tafilalt. He was born in Yanbu, Hejaz, and died in Tafilalt, Morocco. He was the grandfather of Sharif ibn Ali, the founder of the 'Alawid dynasty, which is the current Moroccan royal family. It is believed that he was brought to Morocco from Yanbu at the end of the 13th century by the people of Tafilalt, who asked Abu Ibrahim Al Omari to invite him. They hoped that, as a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, his presence would bring blessings and improve their date palm crops.
