Abraham of Lerida
Abraham of Lerida was a Jewish physician, surgeon, and astrologer in 15th-century Aragon (now part of Spain). On September 12, 1468, he performed cataract surgery by couching the cataract in the right eye of King John II of Aragon, and he was later successful with the left eye as well.
