The 99th Regiment of Foot was a British Army infantry regiment. It was raised on 10 February 1794 by Lieutenant-Colonel Stuart Douglas and became the 99th Foot in October 1794. Douglas was followed by Lieutenant-Colonel William Gardiner, then Lieutenant-Colonel James Smith Baillie in September 1794, and Lieutenant-Colonel Christopher Tilson in November 1794. From April to July 1794 the regiment was stationed on the Isle of Man. It went to the West Indies, served in San Domingo, and helped capture the Dutch colony of Demerara in 1796. The regiment was disbanded in Demerara in 1797, with the men joining the 39th (Dorsetshire) Regiment of Foot.
