31st Squadron (Belgium)
The 31st Tiger Squadron is a strike-fighter unit of the Belgian Air Force. It is part of the 10th Tactical Wing and operates F-16 Fighting Falcons, with a tiger as its emblem. The squadron was formed on 1 October 1951 at Beauvechain Air Base, together with other units of the 10th Wing. It later moved to Chièvres Air Base, where its first flight was held on 4 January 1952. The squadron joined the NATO Tiger Association and has been a long-time participant in Tiger Meets, hosting the event at Kleine Brogel in 1963. In June 2005, during Operation Eastern Eagle, four F-16s from the squadron flew missions over Afghanistan from Kabul International Airport with ISAF support.
