252 East 57th Street
252 East 57th Street is a tall, mixed-use residential skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan. Developed by World Wide Group and Rose Associates, construction began in 2013. The building topped out in October 2015 and opened in 2016. It rises to about 712 feet (217 meters) with 65 floors and around 436,000 square feet of space. Condominiums begin on the 36th floor. The project sits along Billionaires’ Row on 57th Street and includes two new schools, 78,000 square feet of retail, and a Whole Foods Market. The tower was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, with Roger Duffy and Scott Duncan as designers. Its curved glass facade is inspired by Alvar Aalto’s Aalto Vase. Interiors are by Daniel Romauldez. Amenities include a private gated porte-cochère, automated parking, a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and ice room. The 34th amenity floor features a library, screening room, dining room, terrace, and a fitness center with Pilates and yoga, plus private training studios and two furnished guest suites.
