2025–26 Atlético Madrid season
The 2025–26 season was Atlético Madrid’s 123rd season in club history and their 24th in La Liga. Under president Enrique Cerezo and head coach Diego Simeone, they played at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. In La Liga they finished 3rd. In the Copa del Rey they reached the quarter-finals. In the Supercopa de España they reached the semi-finals. In the UEFA Champions League they advanced to the knockout phase play-offs.
The club’s top scorers were Julián Álvarez and Alexander Sørloth, each with 7 league goals; Álvarez led all competitions with 11. The biggest win was 5–1 against Eintracht Frankfurt, and the biggest defeat was 0–4 against Arsenal.
Key schedule notes: Matchday 19 against Barcelona was brought forward because both teams played in the 2026 Supercopa de España. The season calendar was released on 1 July 2025. Atlético entered the Copa del Rey at the round of 32 due to qualification for the 2026 Supercopa de España. The league draw took place on 28 August 2025, and the knockout-phase play-off draw on 30 January 2026.
