The 2023 Texas Tech Red Raiders football team represented Texas Tech University in the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS season. They played home games at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, competed in the Big 12 Conference, and were led by second-year head coach Joey McGuire. The Red Raiders drew an average of about 54,500 fans per home game.

The season started slowly, with losses to Wyoming and Oregon giving Texas Tech its first 0-2 start since 1990. They got their first win in Week 3 against Tarleton State, 41-3. Starting quarterback Tyler Shough was injured early against West Virginia, and Behren Morton played much of the year afterward. The team finished the regular season 6-6 overall and 5-4 in the Big 12, highlighted by an upset road win over No. 16 Kansas.

Texas Tech then won the Independence Bowl, defeating California 34-14 to finish the season 7-6 overall. Off the field, Emmett Jones left Texas Tech for Oklahoma on January 10, and Baylor running backs coach Justin Johnson was hired to replace him on January 11.
