The 2023 SGP2 was the 47th FIM Individual Under-21 World Championship, run as the SGP2 class of the Speedway Grand Prix after Discovery Sports Events took over promotion in 2022. Three qualifying rounds were held on May 20 in Krško, Pardubice and Vojens. From each heat, four riders advanced to the main event, joining 12 qualifiers plus three wildcards: Mathias Pollestad, Anže Grmek and Petr Chlupáč.

Poland's Mateusz Cierniak won the title for the second year in a row, becoming only the fourth rider to win multiple Under-21 World Championship titles after Emil Sayfutdinov, Darcy Ward and Maksym Drabik. Damian Ratajczak finished second and Bartłomiej Kowalski was third, giving Poland an all-Polish podium.

The season consisted of three rounds, with Emil Breum, Keynan Rew and Esben Hjerrild winning the qualifying rounds. The three wildcards—Grmek, Pollestad and Chlupáč—were added to the field alongside the 12 qualifiers.
