2021 A-League Grand Final
The 2021 A-League Grand Final decided the 2020–21 season. It was held on 27 June 2021 at AAMI Park in Melbourne with 14,017 fans (50% capacity due to COVID). Melbourne City, the regular-season premiers, faced Sydney FC, the runners-up and defending champions. Sydney led early through Kosta Barbarouses, but Nathaniel Atkinson equalised for City. Luke Brattan was sent off in the 35th minute, and City took control with goals from captain Scott Jamieson and Scott Galloway to win 3–1 and claim their first A-League title. Nathaniel Atkinson won the Joe Marston Medal as man of the match.
City’s semi-final was played in Sydney due to restrictions, where they beat Macarthur 2–0; Sydney defeated Adelaide United 2–1 in the other semi-final. The Grand Final was broadcast live on Fox Sports with free streaming on Kayo, and it was the last A‑League match shown by Fox Sports before rights moved to Network 10 and Paramount+. In the United States, the game was on ESPN+.
