Elberfeld, Indiana
Elberfeld is a small town in Greer Township, Warrick County, Indiana, northeast of Evansville. It covers about 0.31 square miles and had 644 residents in 2020. There are no major highways through the town. Interstate 64 runs just north with no exit to Elberfeld, and Interstate 69 is nearby but also lacks a direct access point. The nearest main road is Indiana State Road 68, about 2.5 miles north. The town is crossed by the Indiana Southern Railroad.
A post office has served Elberfeld since 1868. It was founded mainly by German settlers and named after Elberfeld, Germany; it was officially laid out in 1885.
Elberfeld has a public library (a branch of the Boonville-Warrick County Public Library) and its own school district, including Elberfeld Elementary School.
