2011–12 Lecce season – summary

U.S. Lecce, chaired by Isabella Liguori and initially managed by Eusebio Di Francesco, finished 18th in Serie A and were relegated to Serie B. They also reached the third round of the Coppa Italia. David Di Michele was the team's top scorer with 7 goals in all competitions.

The season started poorly, with Lecce losing 9 of their first 13 league games and exiting the Coppa Italia early. On 3 December, Di Francesco was sacked and Serse Cosmi took over as head coach. Despite some improvement and more points after the coaching change, the team could not escape relegation, suffering four losses in the last five matches.

Home game attendance averaged 9,058, peaking at 13,300 against Milan and dropping to 2,892 against Cagliari.
