2009–10 Nemzeti Bajnokság I (women's handball)
The 2009–10 Nemzeti Bajnokság I was the 59th season of Hungary’s women’s handball championship. The regular season ran from 2 September 2009 to 27 March 2010, followed by playoffs from 10 April to 15 May 2010.
Győri ETO KC were the defending champions and they won the title again, going undefeated in the season. Tímea Tóth was the top scorer with 225 goals. In the end, Győri ETO KC were the league champions and Debreceni VSC were the runners-up. Váci NKSE beat Békéscsabai ENKSE to take the bronze medal.
Vasas SC and PTE-PEAC were relegated to NB I/B after finishing bottom in the previous season. Tajtavill-Nyíradony left the competition due to financial problems and was replaced by Hunnia KSK, Veszprém Barabás KC, and Siófok KC.
The league included teams from various regions and used a double round-robin regular season. The top four teams advanced to the playoffs (a best-of-three series). The bottom four teams entered a classification round to fight against relegation, with bonus points awarded based on their regular-season finish.
The season’s top teams earned European competition slots: the champions and runners-up qualified for the 2010–11 EHF Champions League, while the next two teams earned a place in the 2010–11 EHF Cup. The playoffs carried the sponsorship name Arany Ászok Rájátszás.
