2008 in darts
The 2008 darts season featured several major events and new formats.
- Match format: Games are played in sets, with each set containing three legs. All finals are the best of 15 legs.
- WDF rankings: Points are awarded as follows—winner 150, runner-up 100, semi-finalists 80, quarter-finalists 48, 9th–16th place 24, and 17th–32nd place 12.
- New UK TV series: A new event series consisting of five tournaments was shown on Setanta Sports in the United Kingdom.
- Grand Prix points: For each event, the winner earns 15 points, runner-up 9, semi-finalists 6, and quarter-finalists 3.
- End-of-series prizes: After the five Grand Prix events, the total points determine prizes for the top eight players. The 8th place prize was £1,000 and was shared among several players (names not listed here).
