2007 North American SuperLiga

The first SuperLiga took place in the United States from July 24 to August 29, 2007. Eight teams were invited: four from Major League Soccer and four from Mexico’s Primera División. Teams were split into two groups of four, with each group containing two MLS clubs and two Mexican clubs. The top two teams from each group moved on to the semifinals, leading to the final.

The games were held in seven U.S. cities. Pachuca of Mexico won the championship, earning their first SuperLiga title, by defeating the LA Galaxy in the final.

Across the tournament, 15 matches were played and 42 goals were scored (about 2.8 per game). Attendance totaled 234,751 (about 15,650 per game). Landon Donovan was the top scorer with four goals.

All matches were broadcast live on Fox Sports World in Canada (English), Telefutura in the United States (Spanish), and Televisa and TV Azteca in Mexico (both Spanish).
