1999 German Formula Three Championship
The 1999 German Formula Three Championship (Deutsche Formel-3-Meisterschaft) was a season of single-seat racing in Europe using 2-litre Formula Three cars built by Dallara and Martini. The nine weekends, each with two races, ran from May 9 at Sachsenring to October 17 at Nürburgring.
Christijan Albers, driving for Opel Team BSR, won the championship, taking six wins in the 18 races. Marcel Fässler finished second, with victories at Sachsenring, Oschersleben, and Hockenheim, 45 points behind. Thomas Jäger won at Zweibrücken and Oschersleben and finished third overall. Other winners were Robert Lechner, Yves Olivier, and Timo Scheider, who also finished in the top six.
All rounds were held in Germany except for one race at Salzburgring in Austria.
