The 1996 Miller 500 was Race 17 of 31 in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. It took place on July 21, 1996, at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. The track is a 2.5-mile triangular course, and the race was 200 laps, totaling 500 miles (804.672 km). The average speed was 144.892 mph.

Ricky Rudd finished second for Rudd Performance Motorsports, and Dale Jarrett finished third for Robert Yates Racing.
