1982 Junior Pot Black was the second edition of the junior snooker tournament. It took place at Pebble Mill Studios in Birmingham, England. Eight young players competed in a knockout format (down from 12 in 1981). Each match was a one-frame shoot-out, with the final decided by a two-frame aggregate score. BBC2 aired seven shows starting Monday 23 August 1982, running until 1 September, at 7 pm. Alan Weeks presented the programme, with Ted Lowe as commentator and John Williams as referee.

The previous year's champion, Dean Reynolds, had turned professional, so he did not compete. Among the players from the last series were John Parrott, Neal Foulds, John Keers, and Jonathan White. In the final, John Parrott beat John Keers 169–70. Parrott also had the highest break in the tournament, 56. The winner's prize was £250. The event was a non-ranking tournament, broadcast from 23 August to 1 September 1982.
