1947 Cleveland mayoral election
In the 1947 Cleveland mayoral election, incumbent Democrat Thomas A. Burke was re-elected, defeating Republican challenger Eliot Ness. Burke received 168,412 votes (66.20%), while Ness received 85,990 votes (33.80%).
