Çaldağ mine
Çaldağ is a large nickel mine in western Turkey, located in Turgutlu, Manisa Province, about 232 km west of Ankara. It opened in 2009 and is owned by European Nickel. It is Turkey’s largest nickel reserve, with about 33.2 million tonnes of ore grading 1.13% nickel, containing roughly 375,000 tonnes of nickel metal.
