Yekaterinoslav Viceroyalty was a region of the Russian Empire from 1783 to 1796. It began on March 26, 1783, when the Novorossiya Governorate and the Azov Governorate were merged. The capital was Kremenchug in 1783 and then Yekaterinoslav from 1789 to 1796. The territory was divided into about 15 counties called uyezds. On December 31, 1796, the viceroyalty was merged back into the re-established Novorossiya Governorate. Today, the lands are part of Ukraine.
