Woods Cross station
Woods Cross station is a FrontRunner commuter rail stop in Woods Cross, Utah, operated by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA). Address: 750 South 800 West. The station sits on about 13.5 acres and is easy to reach from I-15 at the 500 South interchange.
Layout and parking:
- One island platform, two tracks.
- Two Park and Ride lots with about 230 free parking spaces in total.
- Main parking lot is between the platform and 800 West; a second lot is just north of 700 South.
- The station is accessible for people with disabilities.
Quiet Zone:
- The station is in a Quiet Zone, so trains don’t routinely sound their horns at crossings nearby.
Opening and history:
- Opened on April 26, 2008. The first FrontRunner southbound train left at 11:30 am.
- On December 1, 2011, a wind storm caused damage to Farmington Station; a bus bridge carried passengers between Layton and Salt Lake Central while repairs were made. Normal service resumed later that day, with repairs continuing for a few days.
- Woods Cross was once the first FrontRunner station north of Salt Lake Central, but when North Temple station opened in December 2012, Woods Cross was no longer the first north of the city.
Nearby area:
- The surrounding area is mostly residential. Major shopping is just east across I-15 in Bountiful, and there is an oil refinery northwest of the station.
Rail service:
- Trains run north toward Ogden and south toward Provo Central.
Connections:
- UTA On Demand South Davis service is available from this station.
