Willard Drug Treatment Campus was a state prison in Willard, New York, in Seneca County near Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes region. It had 900 beds for a boot-camp style drug treatment program for men and women. The 97-day voluntary program offered an alternative to prison for people convicted of drug offenses or parole violators who would otherwise be sent back to prison. It was run by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, with the Division of Parole, and licensed by the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). The campus opened in 1995 on the site of the former Willard Psychiatric State Hospital and closed in March 2022 as part of budget and population relocation efforts. The Paranormal Research Society from Penn State investigated the campus and featured it in a Paranormal State episode called “The Asylum.”
