The song was written by Montell Jordan and Donald DeGrate Jr., and produced by Montell Jordan, DeVante Swing, and James Earl Jones. It was released January 28, 1997 (recorded in 1996) and runs 3:59 on Def Jam. The track peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified Gold on May 22, 1997 for sales of over 500,000 copies. It follows the single “Falling” (1996) and precedes “Let’s Ride” (1998). The B-side is “Superlover Man.”
